Common name(s): Heart leaf fern, Tongue fern

Defining Characteristics: 

  • Unique species of the Fern family; Pteridaceae; with heart-shaped fronds on dark stems
  • Small, compact fern great for smaller spaces
  • Can be grown as an epiphyte or in soil
