FAQ:
Does FoamCare® contain Vetericyn Plus®?
No, FoamCare does not contain the same technology as Vetericyn Plus®. However, Vetericyn Plus® and FoamCare have been formulated to work together and use in conjunction after bathing for wound and skin management.
How often can I wash my pet with FoamCare?
FoamCare Shampoos contain no harsh chemicals so they are gentle enough to use as often as you desire.
Does it need to be rinsed?
Yes, all FoamCare variations need to be rinsed off the animal. FoamCare has been specifically formulated to be easy to rinse and leave the coat optimally conditioned.
Can the medicated products be used on animals that have broken skin?
We do not recommend applying any shampoo directly to a wound or broken skin due to potential irritation. Even a mild non-medicated shampoo can be irritating to compromised skin and we recommend users avoid applying any shampoo directly into a cut or wound.
Can FoamCare Shampoo be used on puppies and kittens?
Yes, all of our shampoos are safe for puppies and kittens.
Is this shampoo safe around the eyes? Is it tearless?
Yes, FoamCare is safe around the eye area. However, it is not considered a tearless shampoo. If product gets in the animal’s eyes, simply rinse well and flush with water to alleviate any chances of discomfort or irritation.
Can this be used in conjunction with flea or tick treatments?
Yes, FoamCare shampoos are compatible with flea or tick treatments. We recommend following directions stated by the flea or tick company and not bathing your pet for 48 hours after application.
How many washes can you get per bottle?
Compared to traditional pet shampoo, FoamCare users find the foaming trigger system extends the life of the shampoo since it is used much more efficiently. The actual amount of washes depends on the size of your pet as each animal requires different amounts of shampoo.
Why does the pH of shampoo matter?
Some shampoos have a lower pH which can disrupt the natural defenses of the animal’s skin acid mantle. All FoamCare Shampoo is specifically formulated for an optimized pH for pet’s skin and do not disrupt the natural acid mantle.
What are the benefits to the foaming application?
The foaming application provides a deeper clean that nourishes your pet’s skin. The foam is easy to lather into your pet’s coat and clean the skin.
Can I dump the shampoo into a bucket and wash my pet that way?
FoamCare shampoo is best used as sprayed through its trigger system for correct foaming action. We do not recommend decanting the shampoo into other containers. The shampoo is designed to be sprayed through the trigger for optimal coverage and easy application.
